MailChimp has just developed their API- the cheeky monkeys at MailChimp then asked 37 Signals if they wanted to make Highrise work with their API and gave them a weekend to do it… Basic rules here- follow who goes first- that means that MailChimp should if they have any sense follow 37 Signal’s API and make their stuff compatible- I would be keen to jump for this too!!!

Topic: Miscellaneous / BCC mailmerge

Dear all,

I would really love to use outlook to send mailmerges to set groups and BCC these details into dropbox. Does anyone have any idea how this could be done without external software or revealing dropbox id’s via email!

Please help- my team are shouting at me for making them do this for individuals.

Sure, when I go to contacts, I then select people and unfortunately the “delete contacts… yellow bar etc” does not appear.

It does this perfectly in Mozilla though. Hope this helps.

We have been using Highrise for about 3 months and already have 73 tags!

Can we think about displaying these better, long lists separated by commas is very hard to read.

Also, when adding tags can there be a way of either adding them both to the company as well as the people or alternatively checking a box that will allow us to include both.

I am really excited by all of the work being achieved through using the Highrise API- Richard’s work on Highrise Inquirer is a real benefit and am really looking forward to Daniel’s work with AS3- can anyone out there (37Signals, Google, Adobe, Microsoft or anyone else with some hard cash) get some startup funding for this type of work!!!

Regrettably, I work for a charity otherwise I would love to help here!!!

I promise to promote this work where possible and credit to those who are working hard to ensure that Highrise is a true model of WEB2+ technologies- in this I mean that the users of the tool are empowered to make it do anything and everything what they would want!

Agreed. Would also be useful if when adding a new company/ new person it could show all other companies/ people with the same details so to avoid duplication at the first instance.

I work for a charity and would think that some of my ideas would work well for commercial ventures too. I have tried developing concepts for Backpack but they are genuinely not as successful as those for Basecamp! I have hundreds of ideas in how Highrise could work in the organisations I support also! Can we move faster than the two week developments of present!

PS. This is probably 10 or more times faster than we would get from other organisations but is this not the true power of the web…

I hope nobody thinks I am missing the point, I would love mail merge embedded in Highrise or alternatively a product which would let me see what has been sent to who on my contact list. Perhaps an ability to block who is included in e-mail merging would also be neat…

I would also like calendar functionality, here it would be great to add either a meeting/ event and be able to link people in to this (perhaps similar to tags!).

Finally, please, please, please can we have a quick way of adding tags (the opportunity to separate them- at least line by line would also be good!)

PS. Having demonstrated what is achievable with Highrise to some other teams, it looks like I need to buy more accounts very soon…
