Topic: Feature Requests / More deals per account I’ve always been of the opinion that if you need the functionality then you should pay for it but I tend to agree with Paul Smith on this one. It seems that the Deals and Cases allocation to the Basic and Personal plans are really just there as a tease. They don’t offer any real functionality with so few allocated and the limits are too restrictive to even get a feel for how they could work on a larger scale. We’ve been on a Basic Plan for over 18 months, and we currently use 67% of Users, 30% of File Storage and 20% of Contacts. However, we clocked up 100% of Cases and Deals within the first week of them being launched. I’d like to see an increase in the number of Deals and Cases for the lower end plans, as per the table below, but my hunch is that 37S are trying to discourage small businesses from using Highrise as a pseudo project management tool.
As it stands, I cannot justify a doubling of the cost of HR just to get access to a few more Deals and Cases, especially when we also pay for a Premium Basecamp and Basic Backpack account. I guess it’s a Case of no Deal for me. |

Topic: How are you using Highrise? / One person, many companies We use the dominant company as the main reference and add a link to the secondary companies in the “Background Info” text box. [We also use this as a way of linking people; spouses, partners, associates etc.] We also add the secondary contact details with a prefix denoting the secondary company. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Deals - Australian dollars As far as I can tell, the currency selection really only changes the symbol used so the $ is applicable to Australia. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Simplify adding emails / notes to deals
Especially considering that the Deals dropdown includes all Pending, Won & Lost deals. This list is going to be HUGE in 12 months time. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Deals Following Paul Smith’s lead… I was happy when I saw the Deals function and can see the benefit but now that I know there’s only 5 for my account… Big Thumbs Down. We are only a team of 4, unlikely to grow beyond 6 in the near future, so upgrading to a 15user account, with 20k contacts at twice the price, just to get more “Deals” is hard to swallow. Do they work like Cases, where only active ones are counted? I wasn’t too fussed about the restriction of Cases but IMO, this is a different type of feature that has a much broader use. Update: It appears that only Pending Deals are counted towards the limit. Those that are “won’ or “lost” are similar to “closed” cases. This doesn’t help me though, I would have around 20 Deals pending at any given time. I really hope they reconsider this limit. As it stands, it is unusable for my specific circumstances. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Deals I was wondering what you were talking about rich until I logged in to HR and saw the new tab. Funnily enough, I have been reconsidering our need for HR over the past few months but now have to reconsider this reconsideration. :) I agree with some of your points, particularly the linking of contact and company. If I have a deal with person X, who works for company Y, then the deal automatically applies to both. I would imagine that a situation where a deal is with a contact only, and not related to their company, would be rare. It should work as it does in Basecamp where projects are ‘owned’ by one company/contact and others are added as collaborators. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Messages not hiting inbox - different outgoing mail server I’ve come to realise that emails forwarded to my HR inbox from my home office are not being received. I’ve tried adding the email address that relates to the outgoing server to my profile but this didn’t work. Has anybody else had troubles getting HR to accept emails sent from a remote machine? |

Topic: Feature Requests / Import contacts into a group? I’d like the ability to assign ALL common settings to an imported group. If for example, I wanted to import a group of private contacts, I’d like to be able to set the access to “My eyes only” at the import stage. Common Tags would also be good to assign at this time. |
