Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Task list at bottom of Page It’s possible you have a non-breaking long link or other piece of content on the screen that is pushing the sidebar down. Is that the case? If not, please email support so we can look into your specific situation. Thanks. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Why some contacts are not in alphabetical order? Are you sure you are viewing the list of contacts in alpha order? If you view in “Recently added” or “Recently viewed” they are going to be sorted by date, not by name. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / not receiving task reminders Is this via email or SMS? If it’s via email you may want to check your spam filter. It’s certainly possible the filter is eating up these reminders. |

Topic: Feature Requests / The real world requires a backup solution. A simple truth: We can’t stay in business if we don’t keep your data safe. Your data is safe with us – and significantly safer than where most people keep their data: on their laptop. We haven’t had any security failures since we started selling web-based software in 2004. We take this very seriously. In general, your biggest risk is a weak password or someone stealing your laptop, not someone hacking through firewalls and multiple layers of security in a solid server setup to get at your contact database. Our software and infrastructure is monitored and updated regularly with the latest security patches. The traffic on our network flows behind an enterprise-class firewall to keep it guarded from people with malicious intent. Of course nothing is 100% safe. Governments are hacked, billion-dollar corporations are hacked, banks are hacked. But the average person’s data is many times safer when it’s stored with a reputable host than on their own computers. Ask anyone who’s lost a laptop, seen a hard drive crash, or had their backups in the same location as their computer when they had a fire or water damage and they’ll tell you they wish they had their data stored remotely. And unfortunately most people don’t back up their data at all or on any frequent schedule. We back up data offsite every day and write data to multiple local disks instantly. Further, if you have a defective hardware issue with your own personal computer it’s highly unlikely it will be repaired within a few hours. It’s likely you’ll need to send it in and have it repaired which will take a minimum of 24 hours – and usually more like 72+. Unless your store your data on a external drive, you’ll be without your data for a while. And if you store your data on an external drive, you’ll want to make sure you are backing up the external drive too – locally and remotely – every night. As far as exporting goes: You can export your contacts from Highrise at any time. Click the Contacts tab. You can export them in CSV or vCard. You can also export just a subset of your contacts using tags. We’re not forcing anyone to use our products. You are free to leave any time you’d like. You can export your contacts via the Contacts tab or use the API to get anything else out you’d like. We have one of the most generous on/off policies in the business. We also don’t force you to sign long term contracts or lock-in arrangements or charge you signup fees or termination fees. Everything is month-to-month. You are free to come and go as you please, but as long as you are storing your data on a pay plan you’ll need to pay us the monthly service fee. You can always downgrade to free if you have fewer contacts and users than the free plan maximum. I hope this helps clear up a few things related to remote vs. local security. Thanks again for using Highrise. We’re always working to make it better, faster, safer, and more useful. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Size of logos Since the photos in Highrise are square, anything that is wider than it is tall is going to get cropped. You could crop them yourself to just focus on one part of the logo if you want to control exactly how it’s going to look. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Importing vCards redirects to a login screen [subject changed for accuracy] Thanks for bringing this to our attention. do1, this morning we had an issue that could cause you to be redirected to someone’s else login screen after an import. We’ve fixed the bug and deployed the fix live. We apologize for this and have fixed the hole that caused the problem. UPDATE: We are in the process of writing the handful of people that may have been affected by this bug before we were able to fix it. |

Topic: Miscellaneous / New Affiliate program... From the help section: At this time we can only accept affiliates based in the United States. Once we’ve squared away tax arrangements with other countries we will begin to allow non-US affiliates to sign up. Note: You can promote and sell our products to anyone in the world, but you have to have to live in the US in order to be paid affiliate commissions. |
