So my staff isn’t the greatest at spelling. I’ve got several task categories with misspellings. They annoy me. But since there are some completed tasks in those categories, there is no little trashcan next to them when I go to edit the categories. I can’t rename them to the proper spelling, since there is already another category with the right name.

I would love to have the ability to delete categories even if there is a completed or non completed task in them. Then any task would revert to uncategorized. There is no loss of information.

It’s not only poor spelling, but also at times staff have been “creative” in how they make a category, and it’s just not useful to have all the experiments haunting us when we assign a category. For now, I’ve just renamed these starting with “Z” and they are mercifully cast to the bottom of the pile. But I really want to delete them. There’s like 40 categories there when I really only need to see about 6.

Admin should really be the only person that can add or delete categories since it’s global.

I’m also trying to delete and reorganize my teams categories in Highrise. Now that we know what we’re doing and how we might use an existing feature better, we can’t.
