I’m on the point of endorsing Highrise as a CRM solution for a client but in order to do so I need to know definitively how accessible the tag information is for subsequent import into a public web site. The trouble is I’m not a back-end programmer kind of guy (interface design is my forte)! Here’s what I have gleaned thus far:

1. Tags are not exported with CSV export (+1 for that please)!
2. My limited reading of the API reference is that one can list companies by tag, but not, for example, all companies with their tags appended to them. To arrive at something equivalent to the latter, one would presumably have to iterate through each tag, acquire a list of companies, and then merge all the lists using the Highrise ID as a key or some such. What a pain!

Can you please confirm that I have this down correctly?

Highrise Inquirer uses the second method. It does mean that it downloads the contacts once for each tag they have.

I would love to find a better solution.
