email to case?

Hi,

I have been using highrise now for a week and it is totally great software.

I am in the process of moving data over from sugarCRM. I created a bunch of Perl scripts to do it, let me know if anyone is interested.

the only thing I can’t figure out is how to forward an email to a dropbox such that it shows up as a note in a case? I know you can forward it and create a task or attach a note to a person …

thanks
bert

Hi Bert,

You can’t currently email a case directly. You’ll have to email the person the note is about and then associate the note with the case (either by hand or by API).

And this needs to be changed! We NEED emailing to a case (not only here but in Basecamp too)

Agree with this; top of wishlist for dropbox improvements for us, with the following in descending order also:

1. option to attach dropbox mail to a case
2. option to attach dropbox mail to all contacts on distribution list of incoming email
3. option to autoset “when it happened” by date of dropboxed email.

Ah just discovered this thread after finding out that, even though my contact is associated with a case, an email I bcc’ed to him didn’t attach to the case (but rather to the contact. Annoying to have to remember to associate this email to the case.
