I’d like to be able to send an email to all people that share a certain tag. Can I do this easily? Ideally, I’d like to be able to search by tag, then see a list of people under that tag, and click one link to populate my local email client with 1) all their email addresses in the email field I choose (to, cc or bcc) and ALSO include the highrise dropbox address in the bcc field… that’s my feature request if this can’t be done today.

I’ve had that thought before too. It would be an incredible feature.

If I could do this it would allow me to ditch my current CRM, which I hate, so please let the world know.

Does anybody know if there have been any progress in this area? i.e. is it possible yet to send an email to everyone with the same tag or at least have a link that would propogate default email program address bar with all the email?

I use Highrise to manage models in our modeling agency. I’d love to be able to search for specific talent using the tags (say blondes, blue eyes) then email the list with pictures all in one email to the client.

I would love this feature. I think this is a brilliant and necessary item in the future. DO remember though a simple add-on mentally can be many hours and tons of code. I am always explaining this to my clients.

My unofficial application, Highrise Inquirer, can email based on search criteria.

Cheers

1. Click the tag of the people you want to contact, like “blueeyes”
2. Choose the “Export Vcard” link to get a group vCard of those people ONLY
3. The group vCard for “blueeyes” will download to your Mac and automatically import to AddressBook.app on your Mac
4. With Address Book open on your last import, click File > New Group From Selection and name it “Blue Eyes 20081102” (use today’s date so you know how current the distribution list is)
5. Right-click the new group in Address Book and choose > Send Mail to
   OR
   Send a new mail in your mail client to “Blue Eyes”. Address book will fill in those contacts.

This ought to work with a few variations in Entourage and Outlook as well. Note that this isn’t a “live updating” distribution list, but it is a super fast and simple way to generate a group email. Good luck.
