Last night we launched a new feature we think you’ll love. Now you can search contacts by city, state, zip/postal, and phone. We hope you find it useful. Thanks for your continued support.

This is a great new feature and I know it has been requested for a while.

I have just one question about the phone number search. Can you use wild card searches. The reason I ask this is that often we get given number which do not contain the district code. For example my number is 0151 632 XXXX, but we would get this as 632 XXXX.

Any chance, Please

Why not put the text to the right of the search box to save on vertical space.
Partial searches work from start of word. Why not have the same groovy effect of person search where when it searches as you type.
How could you find all people that have no city tag, could you type “is Null”

Garry, there are technical considerations that prevent us from doing what you suggested at this time.

Peter, you’re right. The phone number search matches at the beginning of the string. We think this is more useful since you’re often searching for area codes. If we matched anywhere in the string, and you searched for an area code like 312, you’d potentially get a bunch of results that you don’t want.

Agreed, hence the reason I enquired about ‘wild cards’ in the search string. I think that would satisfy all.

Jason,

Any reason for not including “country” in this search? I’ve got contacts in 76 countries to search through – and this would be very helpful.

I agree with Andrew-B, My address book has many countries.

What about adding this feature to the search screen found by clicking the search button at the top right side of the screen?

Ditto on the request for country added to the search feature. Our contacts and activity are across the US and Europe – so country search would be helpful

Please, add the “Country” field to the search feature. We have contacts in more than one country, and I don’t see a reason to not add this field. Thank you!

Sorry for the drama, but I am really shocked that you can’t search by country!

Please add it ASAP

Why cant we search across any field in the Contact’s profile.

We can search all notes, emails and comments etc but cant look up say all contacts that joined before February 2008?

duh.

a work around is to use tags, but then why have fields that you cant search on??

Country has been added. It should show up within the next week.

Excellent – many thanks.

I second Batch’s comment. We critically need the ability to search on all fields, especially items like “titles”. This is a showstopper for us as recruiters.

Any idea when we’ll have the ability to search on all fields?

Thirdsies! Would use this search of multiple fields a lot. Please do add it when you can.

I tried to use the country search for contacts, and although i have contact in a specific country, the result said “found 0 contact matching” please assist

Agreed that the search needs to go across all the fields. Would really love to be able to do a Boolean search in the “About” field. Also- why not have the notes, emails etc. as a part of the advanced search???

In a marriage of three new features – dates to remember, tagged export, and advanced search – how about adding the ability to search, filter and export based on dates to remember? E.g., search for and export contacts “Promoted to manager” greater than, less than, or between specified dates.
