New Feature: List view
We just rolled out a new view for the Dashboard and People pages called the List view. The List view is a condensed view that shows you significantly more activity in less vertical space. Here’s what it looks like:
The List view is an option on the Dashboard, people pages, company pages, and case pages. The Expanded view is the original view with the people photos, bigger text, and less-truncated content. We increased the truncation limits on the expanded view to display more information without having to click through to read the full entry. This has also been a top request. We’re really excited about the List view and we hope you like it as much as we do. |

Great improvement much like the Basecamp dashboard. |
Looks nice. More understandable. Currently I don’t use the Dashboard. I usually just go to the tag that I need or go to the company/person I need. This improvement might change that. ~ mel Melvin Ram |

This looks really great. I predict the Task list will be next for a makeover. Now I just need to find a way of stopping Mail.app from messing up these cool layouts with HTML garbage. I’ll miss that big fat Tick for a completed task in the Dashboard though. Very cheering. |

hey can you make the notice notifier go away… there is no X – close link ~ mel Melvin Ram |

gobstopper
Looks like it will still be there in the expanded view. |
Just realized that there will be no photos any more in the list view. I don’t like that. ~ mel Melvin Ram |
Looks good to me, right now the Dashboard is kind of a mess and it’s hard to discern what exactly is going on. This helped us out a bunch with Basecamp so I look forward to the revamp over here now. |
Looking great! Thanks for this, hopefully more cool stuff will come to Highrise in the future :) |
I can’t make the yellow notification box on the home page disappear. What do I do? ~ mel Melvin Ram |
Melvin: We usually leave a notice up for about 36 hours to ensure everyone has seen it. In the future we’ll add an option to allow you to hide it once you’ve seen it. |
I miss the photos. Now I get a lot less mileage from the effort I put into getting the photo and adding it into the website. I know I still have the expanded view, but I like the List view, except I’d like the photo part to come back. ~ mel Melvin Ram |
I have to agree with Melvin Ram, the List view looks great, but it surely would look better with nice photos ;) Maybe only with the contacts that actually have a photo, so it does not look too cluttered? |
Melvin & Spacebar, I can’t see how pictures could fit on there and not disrupt the new excellent layout. |
We tried photos and it was way too noisy. Photos work on the expanded view because there’s space between the photos. This view is so condensed and tight that the photos were too close and detracted from the content. Every view can’t have everything. Decisions need to be made about what belongs to achieve the best balance. |
While I like the pictures, I think this list view might be just what I need to get me started using Highrise again. The confusion I had before with the interface is gone. Now if I can actually get in on that Plaxo sync beta, then I can sync my address book with my Mac through them. |
It looks like Plaxo Sync is on the way soon: |
SWEETT!!! I’m excited about this plaxo thing. Only prob is, I tried it and it didn’t update the photos in my highrise. It looks like a 1-way dump so far. True sync would be killer. ~ mel Melvin Ram |
Melvin, if you have an issue with Plaxo’s sync you’ll want to get in touch with them. It’s their product using our API. |
Yea, I know. I was just letting everyone know that’s great yet has a few kinks… not ask for fixes/updates from 37s. BTW, where are you guys located? I’ve got some Harry Potter special screening tix I got give ya if you’re in Portland, Minneapolis, Sacramento, Pittsburg, Atlanta or Orlando. ~ mel Melvin Ram |

In the new list view, I’m seeing a little red padlock icon next to every completed task (both on the Dashboard, and on indivdual contacts’ histories). In the traditional expanded view, no such padlocks appear. All of my contacts/notes/emails are marked ‘visible by everyone’. Is this a bug, or is there something I’m not understanding? |
Melvin: We’re in Chicago. Thanks for the offer though! |
Chris: The padlocks shouldn’t be showing up on tasks. We’ll get that fixed up shortly. Sorry about that. |
list looks great, thanks. Now all we need is a little dustbin icon beside each email, or one that comes up on hover like elsewhere in HR. |
Ooo, I just realized that notes are no longer shortened in the expanded view. It shows the entire note. I love that! ~ mel Melvin Ram |
