New feature: Highrise API (locked)

|
The Highrise API is now live! The API is based on vanilla XML and RESTful ideas, so it’s very simple to get started building something useful. We’re hoping that all the developers out there can take this as an opportunity to extend and integrate Highrise in a variety of ways. The API for Basecamp and Backpack have yielded some cool extensions and integrations. For example, here are some of the Basecamp ones: http://www.basecamphq.com/extras. We’re particularly interested in seeing extensions that allow Highrise to synch with Outlook, Address Book, and other 3rd party applications. Dashboard and Yahoo widgets to quickly look-up addresses are also obvious fits. This API brings with it the launch of a centralized developer site for all 37signals applications: http://developer.37signals.com. We’ll be adding more examples and wrappers to this site over time. We’ve also added a dedicated forum for developers to chat about how they use the API on http://forum.highrisehq.com/forums/7. Enjoy! |
