Can contacts be exported for use with Campaign Monitor or MailChimp?

I really need an export function!

MailChimp has just developed their API- the cheeky monkeys at MailChimp then asked 37 Signals if they wanted to make Highrise work with their API and gave them a weekend to do it… Basic rules here- follow who goes first- that means that MailChimp should if they have any sense follow 37 Signal’s API and make their stuff compatible- I would be keen to jump for this too!!!

• We have an API that could be used for the integration that user was asking about
• While likely 95% of what would be used for an integration was already in our API, we just released version 1.1 of it this past weekend, and now everything we support is available via it
• and the obvious part – if 37signals wanted a tight integration like that user was requesting, we’d be happy to work through it with them.

So I was in no way trying to request that someone develop an integration over the course of a weekend – just noting that after the weekend, the full feature set would be available.

I guess I’ll look back through the Highrise docs and see what I may have missed that is possible. At first glance last week, it did not appear that we could develop plugins/addons/etc for Highrise that folks could use in Highrise (ie, the tighter integration that user was requesting).

If people have any suggestions, we’re more than willing to listen to them here or via our api at mailchimp dot com support address.

Check out “How do I build a bulk mailing list in Highrise?” (http://www.highrisehq.com/help/email/#bulk_email_list). Once you export contacts from Highrise, you can then import them to your email marketing software.
