Topic: Feature Requests / Some sort of interface..........blinksale, highrise, basecamp... I’m with you, Kate. My company has been using Basecamp for a couple of months now. We’ve tried several other alternatives, but Basecamp seems to be the best of the batch. Unfortunately, it’s still missing some key features that seem to be well implemented in other applications, such as Highrise and Backpack. My more cynical business partner assumes this is because 37Signals wants us to subscribe to all three applications in order to get a complete application. Even if that were the case, I wouldn’t mind, so long as the applications were linked in the manner you describe. Some sort of shared “Home” screen with tabs or links to Highrise, Basecamp, Backpack would be a great start to avoid the login overload. But more importantly, I’d want information shared across those tools, so that, for example, to-do lists created in Highrise could be linked to To-Do lists on a project in Basecamp, or edits made to a client’s contact info in Basecamp automatically updated across the entire suite. |

Topic: Feature Requests / basic calendar - separate from milestone Another request for a basic calendar feature, as well as the ability to add due dates to To-Dos. It would also be nice to add a “time due” field to milestones, not just a “date due”. I run a video game production company with clients, team members, and contractors spread all over the globe. Basecamp has been a fantastic tool for team collaboration and project management. It boggles the mind why these basic features weren’t included in what it otherwise a very thorough and versatile tool. It’s like a luxury car that forgot to include a stereo. I’ve been hearing very good things about the calendar in Backpack. Too bad it’s in a completely separate application. If only it were accessible from its own tab within Basecamp… |
