Topic: How do I assign one TO-DO to multiple people Basecamp only allows you to assign milestones or to-dos to one person. You can read about the logic of this decision on our blog: http://www.37signals.com/svn/archives2/make_one_person_responsible.php |

Topic: Web Design Logistics pmico, we do the same thing. You do have to do some training to make people aware of the public/private difference and, being human, people do slip up once in awhile. But no worse than with email. Basecamp, overall, has been a lifesaver and several of our clients have adopted it for their own in-house projects based on their great experience using it on ours. |

Topic: Web Design Logistics I’ve been following the threads, but have a few questions on the logistics in using basecamp with clients and programmers. We have: How exactly do you keep the client from seeing quotes/bids from programmers, designers and balance what the programmers see/say in front of clients? IOW how exactly do you merge the two? We have internal things that happen behind the scenes that the client never knows about, and I can’t quite figure out how to keep all of this straight. I’m using two projects, and that’s not working at all. |

Topic: How do I assign one TO-DO to multiple people I don’t think you can. You could create a Milestone called Company Training and repeat the To-Do’s for each employeeI think the thing to remember here is that Basecamp simplicity is what makes it so good. Jamie |

Topic: How do I assign one TO-DO to multiple people So I created a To-Do list called “Company Training” and a to-do under it called, “Watch the Basecamphq videos” I want to assign this to-do to each of my employee’s so I can monitor when each has completed the task. I see how I can assign it to one person at a time or to the whole company… but how can I assign it to each individual person so I can track who completed it? Is there a way to do this? JTMG |

Topic: Web Projects - how do we flag up an invoice to be raised? Hi there I’m a newbie and would like advice from anyone who uses basecamp for web projects that involves invoicing clients at various stages of the project. I don’t want to invoice using an add on service (Sage does us fine) but I need to know WHEN I can go ahead and issue invoices. There is no field for payment etc.in either milestones or tasks. Anyone know a good way of setting up milestones and to do lists so it becomes apparent to me that a development milestone has been completed and I need to trigger and invoice. |

Topic: Message Subscribers on Email Notification It does not seem to accept attachments to the project/thread address. Is that by design as well ? |

Topic: I use Basecamp for product development and management. We add user groups with a group email address so all get messages. Works well. |

Topic: I use Basecamp for product development and management. I like the simplicity of the product but would love to be able to assign milestones to groups. I can’t seam to define a sub-group in the system. Am I missing something here? Thanks |

Topic: Message Subscribers on Email Notification I love it too but am having issues with it. Has anyone else had issues with this? It worked originally and now it is sending me notifications like: We’re sorry, but we couldn’t post your reply to the project. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? 1. The reply was blank. We can’t post a blank comment. NOW WHAT? I am not doing anything different and I am replying “above the line”. HELP!! Thanks, e |

Topic: Prioritizing Projects Work Around (And a good one too!) This sounded a lot more cumbersome than it turned out to be. It is a great work around and my team is loving it! We are also doing color coding to assist in a visual timeline. Thanks Andrew! |

Topic: Projects by Priority The graphic design company I am employed by has many different levels of projects on the go at once. Some are low priority and others are more important so we place them at a higher priority. These assessments are not always reflected in the deadlines or the amount of time we have designated to complete the milestones. It would be advantageous to be able to set or flag projects by priority and to be able to sort or view projects by these flags as well. This could be a simalar feature to the flagging system used in many email apps. I would be interested to know if anyone else considers this a useful feature or if it is possible to get this feature incorporated into basecamp |
