The search box seems to interpret everything as a phrase. Anyone found a way to search for “this AND that”?

FWIW, in one of my apps, I do something like this in the User model:

validates_presence_of :password, :if => Proc.new{|u| !u.password.blank?}

The validation error occurs when you have selected “Use OpenID Instead” AND you have not entered a username in password. When OpenID is selected, the form fields for User name and password are hidden.

On my account, because I’m using OpenID, I have not entered anything in the Username and Password fields. When the form is saved, it throws a validation error on “User name” and password.

Addition: just tested in Camino (1.5.1) and Firefox (2.0.0.7), and had the same result.

Don’t know if it matters, but my account is not the primary account holder.

When editing information on the My Info page of an OpenID-enabled account, I receive the “username/password can’t be blank” error upon submission. (This is after converting the account to OpenID and then trying to change something else, like my phone number.)

Expected behaviour is that when the OpenID field is visible, it’s required and the (hidden) username/password fields aren’t. And vice versa. Actual behaviour is that username/password are still treated as required fields, even though they are hidden and the account is using OpenID.

Steps to recreate problem:

1. Convert your login to OpenID
2. After conversion is complete, go to “My Info” and change any other information (phone number, etc.) and submit
3. Receive error: “2 errors prohibited this person from being saved / There were problems with the following fields: / * User name can’t be blank / * Password can’t be blank”

Same for me. I emailed support on Aug 3 after it was going on for 3 days then and haven’t heard anything back.

Edit: to clarify, I’m talking about my stuff being frozen in time like cooldept is reporting.

Hi Jamis,

good to see this bug should be corrected. I just set a task for tomorrow and another one to the specific date tomorrow. I will see if they are still overdue or set to today and tell you!

Thanks Jamis, the tasks set as Tomorrow are now switching to Today and not Overdue.

Now I had better go and do them before they really are Overdue.

Nice idea but the current state of Basecamp would complicate matters. Ticking off an item as done doesn’t allow you to add a comment, so you can’t really say how you completed the task or add in any useful notation.

As Basecamp stands I think one task per person makes sense. Once things like to-dos are linked to messages and there are closing comments, I think then assigning a task to more than one person would start to make sense.

James, my tomorrow tasks are now showing as today (just turned midnight). BUT my dashboard is now behaving strange – everything done on 31 Jul is showing as today and everything done today is showing 1 Aug! Have emailed support.

Alright, I believe we have found and fixed this problem. If you ever see a task jump straight from “tomorrow” to “overdue”, please let me know right away, with the information I requested above, and I’ll look into it further. Sorry for that strange bug!

• The specific tasks that are showing as overdue, which ought not to be overdue.
