Topic: How are you using Basecamp? / Writeboards are useless for print projects

We have found basecamp helpful for print projects to coordinate deadlines and tasks for copy, design, print, delivery etc. We do not use the Writeboards instead of word docs.

I use google calendar to look at milestones that far out. It would seem a simple fix to view milestones out more than three months in Basecamp. Kind of a pain to have to go to another product for something so simple.

We do too. Many projects are planned 4-6 months in advance and there is no way to see milestones between projects. +1

We use the following format so that it is easy to see at a glance: “Specific Milestone [Project Name]” Many of our milestones have the same name over our 30-35 projects. Adding the project name makes it easy to quickly see which project the milestone belongs to.

I agree that a notice needs to go out to account holders or admins. We are new adopters and some people were getting error messages while some were getting your update page. It seemed to depend on what their bookmark was to get in to our account.

Has anyone tried a product that makes Outlook 2003 compatible with Ical – Remotecalendar. Our department is trying to adopt Basecamp but we use our Outlook calendars for things other than project managemen and it would be handy to have the milestones in Outlook and Basecamp. Thanks!
