Topic: Feature Requests / Color projects by status on Dashboard This is something everyone would definitely appreciate. Especially if you have a PMO like we do. Unfortunately we are forced to use spreadsheets to get an overview of project overall health. Having a color system based on task and milestones completed vs. total milestones and task is key. However, this will make basecamp more PPM. Maybe a high level subscription to get PPM level and be able to manage multiple projects? |

Topic: Feature Requests / Multiple People assigned for the: To-Do List and Milestones I believe that this was done on purpose by 37signals as assigning multiple people to a single task leads to no accountability. I don’t know about you but as a project manager, I need to hold people accountable. |

Topic: Feature Requests / basic calendar - separate from milestone for the time being we snippet Google calendar right on the Project overview page. Note that this is not supported by 37signals, however given the alternative, we prefer it. |

Topic: Feature Requests / AUIDIT We really need audit. we need to know who change want when, and who did what when. We have 300 basecamp users and it is increasingly difficult to see who did what when to the system with several administrators. We do have multiple administrators, by mandate of management, giving auditing more priority since anyone of the administrators can make changes to the projects. |

Topic: Miscellaneous / Little Printer Thank you. Its good to see a little printer icon. Aldo I am a techy, most of users who use basecamp, on the organization I work for, are not and for them “File Print” does not come naturally let alone “CTRL P”. The icon is very nice and simple. Only issue I have with it is when printing milestones, the calendar does not show, only the numbers and the milestones. Everything else is white-out. I’m using Firefox. Thank you again. The last two weeks have been very exiting. Lots of updates. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Portfolio Managment Hi all, I love Basecamp, and the fact that the developers are always improving on it is great. One feature that would be helpful is portfolio Management. Our company currently has about 70 active projects. Out of this these there are 15 of them that I am PM of or involved in. It would be nice to see a quick project status, like a progress bar (based on completed milestones and tasks vs. active milestones and tasks). Thanks, mrgray |

Topic: System Announcements / Basecamp interruption of service along these same lines; We are creating a email distribution list, for all our basecamp users and customers, In the event this happens again. Its just unfortunate that Basecamp does not have an export feature or integration with Highrise so we can get this done quicker. |

Topic: Tips & Tricks / Basecamp as desktop app (with Fluid) Mozilla actually has something simillar called Prisim. I’ve been using it for the last few month. Here is the link. http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/10/prism/ From what I’ve been reading it looks like they want to make Prisim available in the next version of Firfox so that developers can make their web applications available offline. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Hide overdue milestones and milestone alerts Ok so I know I’ll get some Griff over this but has anyone tried to hide milestones from the dashboard? We have about 70 projects but not all of them are managed by us. There are about 30 late milestones and for the most part is user laziness for not marking them completed or updating them. I’m just looking for a simple way to hide them, similar to this very helpful gresemoneky script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/9279 removing myself from the project is not an option. I figure my main goal would be to have a good view of the calendar without scrolling. Yes I would still like to be reminded of overdue milestones but would be nice to have the option to hide the list while working with basecamp. It also would be nice if basecamp had the option to automatically send daily reminders that a milestone is overdue to the responsible party. |

Topic: Feature Requests / User stats I would like a way to see user stats. For example, I would like to see how many projects is a user part of, How many massages has the user posted, files posted, files per project, task completed, task assigned. We run a PMO and allocating recourses is critical for our group. Thanks for your consideration. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Google Doc integration? Will there be a time when Basecamp will allow Google Docs and Google Calendar integration? So I was explaining to one of our customers of how we use basecamp to collaborate on all projects and how simple it was to get things done. He was so exited that he could not wait to try it out. Sad to say that when he started working with hit he was disappointed, to say the least. As we went along on the demo I understood why he was not liking the product. He thought you can have document collaboration within basecamp. I told him we sort of do with the Whiteboard but he stated for organizing a document, for example a requirements document, you need MS Excel like features. He started ranting how much Google Docs saved his team time and effort and if basecamp had something similar. Sad to say I could not reply properly to his question. I think adding Google docs and calendar integration would increase user acceptance of Basecamp tremendously. Just hope the Admins can make it happen. |
