Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Open Bar and changing your basecamp URL

Thomas … I had a similar problem when I first deleted a backpack account, then created a new one. Turned out I needed to log out (ie: press the log-out link at top right) rather than just close the browser/reboot etc… which it seems leaves you logged in in some way.

Well, now openbar shows all three applications in all three applications (BC, HR, BP).. Not sure what changed. I restarted computer before and it did not cure the problem (HR & BC showing in open bar for Backpack, but Backpack not showing in openbar for HR or BC).

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Due dates for some Milestones in Overview Tab 8 days out

A bug.

I’ve noticed in one or two projects that while individual milestones show up in the 2-week calendar look ahead in the right place, underneath, where recent things are listed and milestones are shown with “(Due XXXX)” against them, in some cases XXX is 8 days earlier than the actual milestone date. !?

I’m afraid I can’t remember whether this relates to milestones I’ve moved forward that many days or what. But in any event, it’s a bit irritating and confusing.

I have just signed up for BackPack; the openbar there shows basecamp, highrise and backpack.

The open bar in both Basecamp and Highrise, however does not show Backpack.

Topic: Feature Requests / Breaking Up Projects By Company

We have a similar situation with “external” people in several projects. We set the associated company to be the main client; would be helpful for the external providers to which projects are for which clients on the dashboard as sggested above.

On the same theme, a general feature to move (drap & drop, or drop-down list) todos, milestones, messages & files between projects would be helpful. We are starting things in one collective project, and then want to start individual projects for each when the activities are mature enough.

Topic: Feature Requests / Associate To-dos with Milestones

There is a “posting this message completes the milestone” for messages & comments linked to milestones, but I don’t see the same option for Todo Lists. It would be a very useful feature, though. As would showing the existinence / option of linking symmetrically (on both milestone & todo).

Topic: Feature Requests / Calendar: 1st day of week option?

I always prefer it this way; but some don’t so an option (like on almost every other date- based application) would be welcome.

Yes please. As option for each user, as it is in Highrise.

Topic: Feature Requests / Tighter integration with Campfire

I would find it very helpful if data on new chat sessions in a Campfire room linked to a Basecamp project would show up automatically in the Basecamp project:

1. Main link in “Messages” – Just a couple of lines giving date, time, topic & participants of campfire chat with an active link through to that particular chat session in Campfire.

2. Files posted in the chat to show up in “Files” on Basecamp (and like with messages have a link to the chat session underneat in the listing), and for consistency to show on Overview also as when files are posted with Messages. In fact with files, I’d prefer they could be removed from Campfire (where space is limited) and stored in Basecamp (where they belong anyway when they are for a project).

And ideally, there’d be the same facility as in Basecamp messages to mark a chat session as “private” ... ie: available to members of your own company in the project, but not clients (slightly less slick, but workable would be to have mutliple chat rooms associated with one basecamp project, and to be able to mark each one as private if required).

Topic: Campfire / Tighter Basecamp Integration

Is there a way to get data on chat sessions to show up in basecamp? Perhaps manually for now?
