Topic: Share Projects Across Multiple Basecamps Periscope Gadget will happily integrate as many Basecamp accounts as you can throw at it in one gadget and give you overall activity by project, by Basecamp account or globally. It’ll do the same for time logged to each project. Still in beta, we hope to be live to the world soon! There are some screencasts of the functionality online, check it out here for more: http://periscopegadget.com/ Ivan. Periscope: Basecamp control in your iGoogle. http://periscopegadget.com/ |

Topic: Share Projects Across Multiple Basecamps Thanks JPB. That is very helpful. Would be nice to have only one dashboard with all shared projects across accounts…but this is a nice workaround for now. Thanks for the info! |

Topic: Share Projects Across Multiple Basecamps This would be a huge benefit. I have clients with their own basecamps and it’s a pain to have to login into different accounts to see all the different projects. If we could share projects across multiple basecamps, that would be wonderful. As far as privileges, why couldn’t it be like it currently works with users having access to Messages, To-Dos, & Milestones? The basecamp account that created the project retains rights to archive, handle people, etc. and the others just have access to the project like regular users. I realize that this wasn’t part of the original plan, but the new feature should generate more money. The first client I added to my basecamp already wants her own account, but will just piggy-back her projects off mine rather than have to worry about multiple logins. |

Topic: Share Projects Across Multiple Basecamps Scott: I wish it was that easy ;) RSS contains pure content. You can either see a feed or you can’t. Basecamp projects are a lot more complex than an RSS feed. Some people have permission to see a project, some don’t. Some people have permissions to do some stuff in a project, some don’t. Some people have access to see private items in a project, some don’t. That’s just the stuff you see on the surface. Under the surface it’s considerably more nuanced. Once you start mixing different accounts with different people and different permissions it begins to get very complex. That’s not to say it can’t be done, it’s just to say it’s not like an RSS feed ;) |

Topic: Share Projects Across Multiple Basecamps Problem with sharing data across multiple accounts is who owns that data. |

Topic: Share Projects Across Multiple Basecamps We have been using Basecamp for a few years now and we rely on it more and more everyday. We are also starting to notice that several of our customers are also using it for projects that we are collaborating on. It would be a great feature to be able to share projects across multiple Basecamp accounts. It is killing us right now as we are logging into a half dozen Basecamp’s everyday to track various projects. |
