Topic: Feature Requests / Removing people from message thread e-mail notifications

I found a work-around for this…! (after two years of apologizing for the inundation of emails to my campers)

Take the person off the project, then put them back on. They will be ‘unsubbed’ from ALL messages in the project. You must subscribe them to any threads he/she should be on.

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / New Basecamp emails - correct behavior?

It seems like

“Name, LastName [Company name] >>subject>> Project Title: Message topic abbr…”

Would make the most sense if all must be included. I was fine before, and personally, I’ll be fine either way. I’m simply happy to now longer have to give the speech about why they can’t use their blackberries and reply directly.

My big concern is private vs. “unprivate” messages… as it is, we have the occasional “oops, I didn’t realize that was a public/private thread.” I don’t think this will help that matter.

Topic: System Announcements / Basecamp interruption of service

We swear by Rackspace… though this past year, we’ve had two minor to major issues with them falling a bit short on service. Are they slipping? I’m a bit shocked to hear that they let a load balancer bring down a behemoth like basecamp… you’d think they know that they are not only letting down 37, but thousands of premium hosting “decision makers.” Thanks for the explanation David. If it’s on RS, there’s not much anyone can really say against 37 (in my opinion). (Chris S. are you familiar with RS? they are usually recognized as the leaders in outsourced enterprise hosting).

One tiny suggestion. Maybe you should broadcast that status subdomain now and/or put the sales site(s) (the first place I always go in case of outage) on a different colo.

Topic: System Announcements / NEW FEATURE: Image-grid view

I LOVE the grid view!

One little qualm…
It seems very confusing to not display all files (docs, PDFs, etc) in the image grid view since the messages “view option” (i.e. list view vs. expanded view) doesn’t filter out messages…. I just spent an hour looking for a document and then realized grid view doesn’t show PDFs. I know there definitely some lack of common sense on my part, but it seems like this could be confusing…

With that said, I assume there is a reason for not showing other docs in that view…?

btw, thanks!
keep on adding cool new features!
