Topic: Feature Requests / Private Areas within the company I’m no guru but I can tell you with with with reasonable confidence based on 37s’ history that it will not come to fruition as it violates three 37s principles: (1) BC is about open group communications (2) would result in a larger code base to maintain (3) would require extra effort, effort that will not yield tangible benefit (increase in sales / revenue). |

Topic: Feature Requests / fixed font in writeboard I think if 37Signals would make the formatting help more easily / intuitively accessible instead of hiding it you would know that all you have to do is bookend the applicable text with <pre> code goes here </pre> pairs. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / escape character for bold format? You should note that using the pre tags does not work properly on angle brackets in basecamp’s implementation. For example, any code snips that have equality tests is pooched. if (x < y) {
// stuff
}
typically comes out as if (x < y) {
// stuff
}

It’s not rocket science and a crystal ball is not required—Resist change as long as possible; enjoy the cash cow similarly. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Only 3...?! Lord knows I’m no Basecamp fan boy as my posting record will attest, but your ‘request’ is a bit silly. If there were 5 projects someone would whine, “But I need six projects, evil cheap skates! Do not want!”. If there were 10, 15 and so on. Need more projects? Ante up. Service seems unfairly priced or anemic to you? Go with a competitor, let your wallet talk. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Links redirecting (Possible Phishing Vulnerability?) In my opinion it’s not an exploit or weakness, it’s working as it should. We frequently put links (and other simple html snips, like highlighting) in messages, titles and todos (eg <br>, <b>text</b>) and would be greatly annoyed if we lost the ability to do so. Glad you figured out what was making it (seemingly) behave weird. |
