Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / New Basecamp emails - correct behavior?

best of both worlds gets my vote: (a) FROM to be the individual posting; (b) Subject to be prefixed by Project name not the company name.

Another vote for this solution! Much more important to see the project name in brackets in the subject line than the company name ad infinitum. I currently manually add the project name to the beginning of every project name for this reason.

Topic: Miscellaneous / Misleading Notice

From the wording I thought I was going to get an upgrade coupon AND ten dollars off my next bill. All I got was a coupon code for a discount on upgrading only. I recommend rewording the last sentence to something like this:

When you complete the survey you’ll receive a $10-off coupon you can use to upgrade your account.

original:

Help us get to know you better
We’re conducting a brief 8-question customer demographic survey so we can get to know our customers better. All questions are optional. The answers are anonymous. When you complete the survey you’ll receive a $10-off coupon you can use to upgrade your account and save $10 off your next bill.

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Missing Scroll Bar

Only happens with Basecamp…the scroll bar randomly never loads on some pages that require scrolling, effectively preventing me from being able to see below the fold. The issue has only recently developed in the past month or so. Haven’t tested in Firefox. Currently using Safari 3.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.4.11

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / More projects in the choose project pulldown?

Jason, I understand the reasoning behind why you chose 20, but I think in this instance, general usability guidelines would be a better mandate to follow. I don’t know what the maximum number of links a human can handle in a drop down before the drop down becomes cumbersome, but I think it’s more than 20. With 20, I have a number of projects that don’t make the cut. This has changed my behavior to avoid the shortcut and always click back to the master projects list to avoid the potential dead end, which stinks b/c it otherwise is a very efficient nav method. Just my 2 cents.

When using the header shortcut “Choose A Project:” projects may or may not appear listed. They are inconsistent and do not match the master projects list in the right hand sidebar.
