Hi Greg,

You can create custom default categories for all future projects, but for existing projects you do need to update the categories from within the project itself. We don’t offer global category changes for existing projects, sorry.

I had the same issue. I export my basecamp time report to a .csv file, and use Pivot Tables in Excel to organize the data the way I want (by project, by person, etc.). It’s a little clumsy, but at least the numbers add up right.

A trick that I often use when I don’t like the size, shape, or text size of an input box any where on the web is to write my content in a separate editor first, like Notepad or TextEdit. Then you just copy’n’paste your content in there afterwards.

That’s a good idea anyway if you’re writing a very long response as browsers can some times be fickle bastards. If you during your writing looks something up on another website that manages to crash your browser, you’ll lose what you were writing too.
