Topic: Journal on a Solo account

I’d like to +1 for removing the lockdown completely. I want to upgrade add new users to my account, but I have old journal entries which I don’t want these users to see. At least allow me to delete the entries, if not edit them. The only way I can erase my journal seem to be to delete my account.

+1 for oscar7g’s idea. I often want to add entries for the previous day and end up with a lot of entries tagged [yesterday] which looks crappy and makes it more confusing. Personally I don’t need to go back more than one day (keep me honest for everything 2 days ago!) so I’d be really happy just to edit/add items for yesterday.

Does anyone (like an administrator) know if there are any plans to change this? It really does seem like a ridiculous limitation. I’m all for “less”, but shouldn’t this at least be an administrator’s option, as randian suggested above?

I’d at least like a delete button even if you can’t edit it. I have also posted some stuff I don’t want on there and I can’t remove it, seems silly.

The editing policy should be configurable by the administrator.

I like the idea of a lock down but I’d also like at least a day’s grace. Perhaps the current day and the previous day’s entries could be editable.

I agree. This is sort of annoying. Why enforce that we be “honest?” I mean, should that really be Backpack’s job? Seems silly.

I jumped right in and added a test journal entry that reads “blah, blah, blah.” So, I can’t delete that? I have to look at that forever?

That’s correct. You can only edit the current day’s journal entries. Restricting editing of historical entries helps keep them honest.

I’m seeing the same thing. I can’t edit yesterday’s journal entries.

It seems that one can only edit the entries of the day : i can’t edit neither delete the “yesterday” entries.

All of a sudden I can edit the entries. It looks like someone has fixed this.

No status on my solo account either which makes sense as there’s no-one to see it! Can’t edit entries whereas I can on my multi user account.

I have a Solo account and the new journal feature doesn’t seem to work as shown in the demo video. There’s no status feature (which I understand might make sense for a single user account) and I can’t edit or delete my journal entries. I’d like to enter journal entries to keep track of what I do over the week and I’d definitely like to be able to edit them. Is this a bug or by design?

Except they don’t display nicely on the dashboard.

This is pretty neat, I like how Highrise allows you to specify the type of category before “tasks” (todos). This seems like too much effort/hacky for my liking though.

I played a bit more with this, cleaned it up, added numbers so you don’t have to count the dots and a tooltip!

<span title="Progress 70%" style="background-color:#c8c2b8;color:#c8c2b8;">1234567</span><span style="background-color:#e0e0e0;color:#e0e0e0;">890</span>

I was wondering if that was possible.
Pretty neat Michael, thanks.

Interesting tip!

<span style="text-align:center;padding:1px;background-color:#00FF00;color:#00FF00;">.......</span><span style="text-align:center;padding:1px;background-color:#E0E0E0;color:#E0E0E0;">...</span> Progess 70%.

I was reading this tip about embedding image tags to messages and todos.

Why put images when you can do simple html chicklets like in the overview page?
I don’t know if someone suggested this tip already, but here’s what we do:

<span style="text-align:center;padding:1px;background-color:#ff9900;color:white;">Urgent</span>

If you use a typing saver like Textexpander or Quickeys on Mac, it makes entering these easy and quick.

Now you can make your todo list look like a bag of M&Ms! :-)

You have to change “http://username.myopenid.com/” to your OpenID url.

That sounds mighty odd. You’re not closing your browser, are you? What OS and browser are you using?
