Yes this feature is actually required here to make basecamp a complete solution.

This is still a BIG stumbling block for us.

At the moment we are having to send out clients project costings (and private emails which we only want them to see) from our normal email account and then ask them not to reply and instead to log into Basecamp which more often than not confuses them.

An update would be appreciated please otherwise we need to seek a new solution.

This has come up before – someone posted a similar message, a couple of people commented positively, and that’s all that happened.

We have freelancers working for us that we’d like to include on projects but only want them seeing our communication with them. We would like client/us communication kept from the freelancers and freelancer/us communication kept from the client. We ended up merging the freelancers into our company but now they see everything internal. Any suggestions?

As a temporary workaround, just create a new project and give access to it only to those people.

Okay we love BaseCamp and now cant live without it! That’s the good news ;)

We keep hitting a stumbling block when we need to talk with clients about project costs and we don’t want these to be visible to certain members of our team (i.e. contractors).

In the MESSAGE or TO-DO section it would be nice to select PRIVATE; but also select which people that is applicable to.

Looking forward to the next release ;)
