Create project?

I don’t see a method listed in the API for creating projects. Does such a method exist? If not, will it ever? |
No, there is no method for creating a project. Jason Fried has recently mentioned that the API might be receiving some more attention, but did not give any indication as to when this will happen. |

We’re finishing up a pretty big round of internal modernizations right now to bring Basecamp up to par with the internals in Highrise. We’re also finishing up some interface refreshing as well. There are definitely a few things on the to-do list ahead of improving the API right now, but it is in the cards. Once the internals are modernized it will make updating the API much easier. |

Jason: will these improvements to the API mean breaks in backwards-compatibility? |
Stickman: We don’t know since we haven’t started on any API changes. We don’t plan to break things, of course, but it could happen in a few spots. If we do we’ll be sure to let people know what changes they have to make before we release any changes. |

OK, thanks. |

I really could use the ability to add a project via a web app I am developing. Is there any update on the API for doing so? Thanks, |
Ok.. this is frustrating. It is bad enough I can not programatically add Projects and People via the API. Is there a way in the url ( or form post ) to login a user and go to a specific project? Maybe the API forum is not the correct place to post this. Anyone know of any other project software with a decent API for building projects on the fly? Thanks, |

I wanted to add myself and my company (Creative B’stro, http://bstro.com) to the list of heavy basecamp users that would love the ability to create new projects and assign access to client/companies via an API. We are working on an Internal Adobe AIR Application for project management and this would be a HUGE help. |

I just think any updates to the API would be great. It’s lacking in a lot of areas. |
