I’ve setup a second Basecamp account for a new company we’re forming and I want to move one of the projects we’ve been using from the old company account to the new one I’ve created. I know it’s possible to export a lot of the project data from the old account but it’s not clear if there is an equivalent import function. Does anyone out there know if this is possible and if so, how I can do it? Thanks!

Unfortunately it’s not possible to transfer data between projects or accounts in Basecamp.

I’ve got the same problem today. The project is in the hands of a contractor. We signed up for Basecamp and need to get the project in-house so we control it, not the contractor.

So I’d sure love to be able to import an exported project, intact. And even import the contractor’s people so that the project still connects to the right people. I’d be willing to do a considerable amount of manual people setup to make a project import work.

I agree, this would be a nice feature. I’ve a large project that needs to be transferred. Exporting a project is no problem but I can’t import it.
