2 lengthy messages I posted today – were deleted (poof) when I hit the backspace button to do editing in posting original message – have not had this in the past – so 2x’s is quiet enough for me to get the message :-( – can a draft be saved – is that what is transpiring as I hit preview? Or is this a new bug and to be safe copy and past into basecamp messages from another text program?

This is what I was hoping for too. My PC crashed during a very long message being created, and it would be great if the message could generate an automatic draft creation, much in the same way as WordPress does.

any plans for this?

A quick solution to your problem: Click “Forward” button in your browser.

This happens to me a lot, but not because of the Backspace button (functioning as “Back” in your browser) but because the scroll wheel on my mouse likes to have the last word even when I’m not touching it and when you “scroll up” while holding a shift key it acts as if you pressed the “Back” button in your browser.
