To do list is one sentence summary of task. However, a lot of tasks need more detail.

Right now we provide detail of that task in a message (if necessary). Signify this with something like see associated message. Then you have to click over to messages and scroll and find message with a same title to see the message and comments that provide more detail.

It would be nice if each to-do had a link to a message thread (if you so choose) that could be clicked to take you to the message thread – in order to provide detail and specifics about that to-do.

This would be much faster than clicking a tab, scrolling through the list and clicking on the message. Plus it averts people creating more than one message to go with one to-do and keeps everything in one nice tidy thread.
