I would love to be able to close a message thread. Leave it there and make it read only (and make it easy to reopen)

All too often we find a post buried in a thread that has been inactive for months. Our customers who are less experienced with basecamp tend to do this.

We also find that sometimes a small post can get missed and once its lost in the haystack its not seen again.

I would love to just archive a message and even move to the bottom of the list.

We find the same issue with our clients.

This issue could be solved with a more robust structured message system. The current Basecamp messaging functionality is very basic with a simple sequential structure. It’s very easy to lose/misplace a reply to a message.
