Schedual the "release" of Messages
|
|
It would be extremely useful if messages and files could be scheduled at a later date and time to both appear on the client side and notify them. For instance if I’m done with a project at 1am in the morning, I don’t want my client to think I will always be awake and available to them at 1am. However I do want them to receive a message (along with any attached files) bright and early 8am in the morning while I’m in another meeting or otherwise away from the computer… |

Great suggestion, Stacie. I’d like to see this, too. |

Interest idea but probably only useful to only a handful of people. Thus unlikely to be added anytime soon. You could probably do this with the Basecamp API though…. hmm |

I wish I knew how to use the API but I’ll have to hope that someone else picks up the idea. I think you’d be surprised the number of people who would end up using this feature (pre-scheduling messages) once it’s available. I had no concept of it until my email started offering the option. I now use it to manage my time so that I have more uninterrupted personal/free time. It helps me get a whole lot of contact done in one hour a week before, when it used to take me all day the-day-of to email everyone. |

Another benefit to this feature is if the recipient gets an alert at say 11am it’s at the top of their inbox not mixed up under 20+ messages. As a project manager you can schedule messages at times that you know your recipients typically open and read mail. No more ‘lost’ message alerts. |

I would just like emails to be sent to people about 1 minute after posting the message. The number of times I press the post button and then realise I made a mistake and quickly edit is high. If the email wasn;t sent for a minute or two, the reader would get the edited text. This sits nicely with this request. |
