How about global Announcements, that display on all Project main pages? Sometimes we need to put up a general advisory to everyone, and it’s a chore to post it to several project sites and then bring it down.

That would be cool !

Then we could also include links to other online apps , we use. Kind of dashboard alla Google.for your Domain. Permissions could be: own company or ALL companies.

I’m pretty certain that they’re already looking at giving us this type of functionality, however, it’s uncertain as to time frame. In the meantime, I’ve heard many talk about adding an iFrame in the Overview page that points to a file on their own web server. That way you only need to change each active project once to include the iFrame, and then all of the content is a 1 file change that you control. Not perfect, but a quick hack for that kind of need.

I support having a global announcement feature in place. With Basecamp no longer supporting IE6, I need to let all the project participants know.

This would be such a useful feature. So many times we have the need to post to all our clients (maintenance issues etc).

Its Just like the 37signlas guys – they want to hit everyone with a message – we just want to do the same.

We are a Basecamp Max user and we got to that level of usage as we have lots of clients and lots of projects and our clients like communicating with us through Basecamp.

It really is a missed opportunity to not be able to communicate easily to them all in one go. The work around is labour intensive in that we get hit with a double whammy – both in having to put up the message and then take it down – else in clags the message’s.

And if the guys at 37sigs can do it for their service announcements – it seems strange that we couldn’t.

Not withstanding that i know how much the sigs guys hold onto their feature additions for very good reasons – its just that i don’t see the issue. Maybe an explanation might help if they don’t want to do this – i’d really apprecaite that :)
