You might consider paying someone to take an xml export from one project and inject this into the second projection via the API. The big issue will be the amount of data to move and the ToS limits on API calls. Harvest, for example, places a 10 API calls per 20 second limit. The other issue is that of stored files and attachments. If your company accounts are using ftp storage, this might not be too hard. Disclaimer: I haven’t looked at the API enough to know if any of this is possible ;-) One issue will be maintaining dates … |

Have been lots people asking for this, me to, but so far 37 signals does not respont. This function should have been included in Basecamp from the start. I’m following the forum one this one, and seems to me 37 signals does not want create this function, for sure they don’t find it importand, otherwise it would have been ready yet. |

There is a very logical for reason for why they wouldn’t want to implement this feature. Allowing someone to copy projects from one account to another would allow people to have permanently free accounts. For example, I could create an account and manage a batch of projects for 29 days, then create a new account, move my projects, and close my old account before the trial expires. |

Eh, that wouldn’t be so hard to work around. Just only allow projects to be transfered from paid accounts. I think that covers 99% of the legitimate use cases. +1 for this feature, in any event. I spent a few hours the other day manually migrating a project between accounts and it was really tedious. For that project, the use case was a project that started out as a consultant relationship, and eventually bloomed into me starting a new LLC with the “clients”. So now we have a new account for our company, so the rest of the people can access all the account-holder features (chat transcripts, time tracking, etc.). |
