Ability to create forms

Avatar lakin 26 posts

Has there been any discussion about Form development. It would be nice to have the ability to create forms/questionnaire’s. An example would be an assessment that we send our clients in the form of work/excel documents. If I could create these forms/questionnaire’s dynamically and have it stored in Basecamp, all would be right with the world.

For our own questionaire’s, we’ve been using Survey Monkey (http://surveymonkey.com/) and have been very happy with it. You might want to give that a try.

Something we use here is WuFoo (http://www.wufoo.com). It can be used for forms and surverys. Now if only Wufoo would integrate with Basecamp.

I use WuFoo as well. What sort of integration with Basecamp would you like to see?

I would want someone to be able to fill out a Wufoo form and have that data entered into a corresponding project. Or have it trigger a new project. Obviously haven’t really thought it through completely.

Relatively easy to do the first with the respective API’s. Can’t create a new project with the Basecamp API as it is, but you could have a holding project catching information for new projects; not sure this really gains much. Or you could manually create the new project when required and trigger a process to migrate the info from WuFoo to Basecamp; might save a bit of cut&paste.

Thanks Neil, thats a great suggestion (“you could manually create the new project when required and trigger a process to migrate the info from WuFoo to Basecamp”) ... Do you know how to do such a thing?

I’ve been wanting to wrap up the WuFoo API so I’ll let you know when I’ve got something working.

Neil: That would be great.
