Is anyone using Basecamp for Resource Scheduling? We are a Medical Software Provider company with 50+ resources in our services department(Project Managers, Implementation Consultants, Software Implementation Engineers, and Crystal Report Writers) and trying to find a way to Schedule/allocate resources for projects and tasks.

If not in Basecamp, how do manage project resources?

We have officially adopted BC as our PM tool but the limitations of BC for our large organization are starting to show. I’m not naive to think there is one application to do it all but one can dream.

I am also looking for a resource scheduling tool that could tie into Basecamp. We are a marketing services firm with 100+ resources and I’d love to start using Basecamp for both PM and scheduling but am not sure that it has the scheduling flexibility I need.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with using this in Basecamp?

We took a look at doing precisely this a few months ago but couldn’t gauge the level of interest. You’ll notice our product (www.teamdirection.com) has the ability to schedule locally and synchronize over the internet. Right now we work with SharePoint web services and Amazon’s S3. We’ve noticed Bascamp has a web service interface and also uses Amazon so its not far-fetched.

If anyone wants to jump on this boat, please reply on this thread. I will also try to contact 37 Signals and see if I can get their blessing.
