Meetings & Permissions

Hi

I’m new to Basecamp and I’m just wondering how people enter an up coming client meeting? Do you use a milestone or the messages page?

Also, I’m wondering how many of you give your clients the ability to add todo’s and milestones? Is there a danger of become swamped?

Thanks

I usually create a message with information about the meeting, and link it to a milestone.

I always give clients full control to do everything. But they cannot assign Todo’s to you (which is an issue imo). I hope 37S will revisit this shortly.

Hi,

How do you link the message to the milestone?

For meetings, we use Outlook and send out a request to participants. It’s easier to track our calendar and appointments through Outlook. We do set up a Writeboard that everyone can edit entitled “Meeting (Date) Agenda” and let everyone throw up ideas for the agenda.

I give them to-do’s; right now, they can only assign them to themselves. None of us really use Milestones yet, so I’ve given them permission but nobody’s taken advantage of it. It does not seem to be useful for us.

We do the same as sherean (above)....however, I really wish there was a way that clients could login and request a meeting time… that would save a lot of “straight to email” messages….
