Automated Request System

A while ago (at least 1 year) I posted a topic asking for help on creating/using a system that allowed users to send a project request form. The idea was that once submitted, it would initiate the creation of a project, and add the people they needed (that existed in basecamp). I know it’s possible using the API’s but am curious if anyone has come across anything like this.

I have looked into a number of options already, including ticketing systems. The problem is that ticketing systems are too limited in terms of structuring requests. There are basic elements of the request form that would need to be included. In fact, those elements may change depending on the type of project (offline versus online, marketing versus sales, etc.) If you haven’t already guessed, I run the creative department for a marketing company, so we server MANY masters, and juggle around 40+ projects on basecamp at any given time! It’s a wonderful system for managing files and discussions, but initiating them is killing me as a manager! Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m not aware of any Basecamp add-ins that do specifically what you’re asking for, Erick. Sounds like a scripting job. Do you know anyone who could bang this together for you?

Another possibility although not seamless would be to create your request forms in something like Wufoo, and then have an API tie-in between Wufoo & Basecamp. Not sure if that’s feasible since the API is certainly not my forte.
