Deleting a user

Forgive me if this is already answered but your search did not return any results for “delete user”. When a user is deleted, are all of the comments and items posted by that user deleted as well?

No, they all stay.

Hi,

I hve deleted 3 contacts by deleting the entire company but one user is receiving messages across threads that they ere never part of.

Seems impossible, but it’s happening!

Any ideas?

Tim

Is there anyway to bring the user back? I accidently deleted a VP and all of his future tasks are gone!

I have a somewhat unique situation: We have been utilizing basecamp to manage a large project with many outside companies/suppliers. One of the companies was unable to fulfill the requirements of the project and I had to remove them and replace them with one of their competitors. In order to protect the old company (I feel it is my obligation since they are competitors with new company) who was let go is there anyway to remove the original user comments and files in Basecamp…yet retain the remaining information in the project so not to have to start over. After removing the comments and/or making them private, I would like to give access to the new company.

Any suggestions on ways to accomplish this quickly and easily? or at all?

I have deleted the user and their comments are still visible. Can you copy the project to another “new” project, sort comments/post by user, then delete all of their posts?

Thanks
