Entries keep getting added twice

Hi all,

I have raised this with 37signals and have had no response back from them, annoyingly enough, so I am asking on here.

About 80% of the time when I hit “add” when creating a note or a task, I will get that item added TWICE into highrise. I then have to go in manually and delete one of them. This happens on tasks and notes.

This happens to any person who is logged in on this machine. If I log in elsewhere, it works fine. I have tried clearing my IE temp files, but that makes no difference.

Any Ideas please?

Thanks!

We’ve had this happen on numerous occasions.

I haven’t looked into it fully but I suspect it has something to do with our habit of working in multiple tabs. This also seems to increase the “thinking” time when you add a task or note.

achundee, we respond to every email we get the same day. You may want to check your spam filter if you aren’t receiving our responses.

Which version of Ie are you using? Does this happen if you use Firefox (as a test)? Do you have multiple tabs open? Are multiple people logged in with the same username? Are you pressing a button to submit the form or are you just hitting return?

Hi, I have grepped my postfix logs and I cannot see any emails containing “37signals” or “highrise” apart from notifications and outbound emails etc. As you have responded on here, do you mind if we continue via this channel as email between us does not seem to work?

I have IE7 v7.0.5730.11. Nobody else logs in with my username, and I always press a button to submit rather than using return.

I do tend to use tabbed browsing, however i have spawned another IE window with NO tabs in it, been into highrise and created a note which duplicated itself. I do have other tabbed IE windows open but I was not opening highrise in them. Thanks in advance.

Hi oscar7g,

Are you also using IE7? I’m trying to narrow down where this is coming from. It’ll help if we can isolate it to a single browser.

We’re using Firefox 2.0.0.4,
OS X 10.4.10

Not sure if anyone has made any programming changes yet, but for the last few notes I have added, I have not had any duplicates! Thanks!
