Using WebRunner w/OpenID
|

Hi, This is a somewhat obscure topic, but I write this in case it helps someone. I use WebRunner (http://wiki.mozilla.org/WebRunner) to run several web applications isolated from my browser and in a stand-alone fashion. Off-topic: It would be cool if 37signals provided an official WebRunner bundle with icons for their applications. For some reason, the WebRunner bundle I created to use Highrise didn’t let me login via OpenID (Basecamp and Backpack did work), as it always showed the normal login form instead of the OpenID one. So what I did (almost contacted support before this occurred to me) was I used the uri for Basecamp and left the id of the bundle as-is, so it would allow me to login to Basecamp using OpenID, and then using the app bar I switched to Highrise. Then I changed the uri again to my Highrise uri, and voilá, it kept me logged in. Did that make sense? - Ivan V. |

By the way, I also use kdocker in Kubuntu to send my WebRunner apps to the tray. It’s fairly easy in case anyone is interested: http://wiki.mozilla.org/WebRunner kdocker -i /usr/share/icons/highrise.xpm path_to_webrunner_binary -webapp path_to_webapp_bundle For the icon I used the Gimp to strip the app name from the official graphic in highrisehq.com and saved it as an xpm file. |
