I run a one person software company and one thing I have been trying to do is to track what marketing is bringing me the best customers. I don’t need anything complex so I figured I would try to use “tags” in Highrise to tag where my customer came from. Boy, does this work great!

I decided to prefix all these tags with “found” so I can easily filter them:

• found-blog-comment
• found-conference
• found-forum
• found-mixer
• found-my-blog
• found-referral

Now I can just click on the tag name and see how many customers came from that specific source. Instant report.
