NEW FEATURE: Image-grid view
We just launched a new view for the Files tab called the image-grid view. You can read all about it on the 37signals Product Blog: |

Images on my account aren’t clear. It looks like a low res image was blown up. Are these highly compressed? |
It’s because the current thumbnails are 100×100 pixels. From now on, new thumbnails of files uploaded will be 200×200 pixels. |
Very nice. Thank you. |

Mark, from the announcement post: “Secondly, this feature only works for images uploaded after May 2007. Before May 2007 we didn’t auto-generate thumbnails for images. Also, some of your older thumbnails may appear stretched. The old thumbnail size was 100×100, but we’ve changed this to 200×200. All future images will be thumbnailed at 200×200.” |

I LOVE the grid view! One little qualm… With that said, I assume there is a reason for not showing other docs in that view…? btw, thanks! |
ok, I didn’t really spend an hour, but it felt like it =p |
Came at just the right time for me as I had just uploaded a bunch of images. It’s cool! Thanks! |
We may be adding PDF thumbnails to the image-grid view, but there are some security issues we have to work out first. |
Yeah I do agree with Dave tho. It’s something I know I would figure out, but worry about less technically minded clients noticing. |
We are a paying customer with 12 projects and to be able to switch to Basecamp hosting (we are currently using our own FTP), we would need at least 50GB of space. Any good news for us? |
I agree with dave above, it definitely needs to show PDFs. As a design department, 80% of the files we’re uploading are in PDF form. Keep us posted, thanks!! |
Maybe other files could continue in text with standard icons after the images. |

Image-grid view rocks. PDFs would make it 100 times better. Thanks! |
