How many Basecamp accounts do you have or are you a part of?

We’re working on a Basecamp single sign-on feature using OpenID. If you don’t know what OpenID is, don’t worry about it. We’ll explain everything later. We’re just curious… How many separate Basecamp accounts do you access on a weekly basis? Just 1? A couple? Three or more? An account would be at a different URL. For example, myWorkstuff.clientsection.com and myHomestuff.clientsection.com. For example, you may have an account for your business and one for your own personal stuff. Or you may have an account on your own company’s Basecamp, but you may also have an account on a Client’s own Basecamp. Or maybe you have your own Basecamp and then you log into a couple of different Basecamps for volunteer organizations you may be a part of. Thanks for sharing. |

I spend approximately half of my BC time in a primary BC account (work), the balance of my BC time split between another 3 BC accounts (2 business, 1 personal), thus 4 paid BC accounts total. One sign-on would be very convenient. |

Just 1. |
1 primary one for my own company, and sometimes a 2nd if we’ve using “their” basecamp. |
Primarily one account most of the time. Also have access to a number of client/vendor/associate accounts, which I use when the need arises. |
Our company has 5 (2 premium and 3 personal) Extra note: if we have two the same projects in two Basecamps (client plus our own) we put the direct url into the extra info message at the top of the dashboard to have a direct link. OpenID would be nice also for Highrise |
Highrise already has OpenID. |
1 Personal So, four now, possibly five. |
2 for now. I can see more down the track as clients pick Basecamp up for their own use. |
1 for work (Free); 1 for consulting (Paid). I split my time pretty evenly between them. |
Got one, but is together with a client. I’ would like to have my own, but to much work now to get my projects out of it. As soon as it is possible to to do that on an easy way, I’ll take my own basecamp. But then the cleint still would wants me to admin his account, so by then I would login with to accounts. |
By my reckoning, I use at least five—three of which are accessed weekly if not daily. Two company accounts (one paid, one free), and at least three client accounts. It’s really not too difficult to manage with Keychain’d account credentials and relatively long session times, but One Dashboard To Rule Them All would be awesome. ;) |

Just one. Interesting to read how other people use multiple accounts. |
1 paid, might start requiring my clients to have their own accounts if it’s easy to switch between accounts easily. So the number could jump to xx or xxx within weeks. |

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Great idea and great work, thanks. |

Very nice, thanks! Edit: Would it be possible to maintain a Remember Me/Keep Me Logged In feature? I currently seem to need to login once for each visit, which is eliminating some of the time saving benefit this offers. |

LOVE IT! |
+1 for Remember Me—Basecamp is my default browser page; it’s a pain logging in every time. Just switched all my accounts over to OpenID. Thanks, this is excellent. |

Ah, Jason….it was cool for a nanosecond. Then I realized I needed my old log-in to use the Sundial widget for time enty. So I went back to My Info and put in my old name and password. No luck. Now I can’t log in as me anymore. My normal log-in won’t come back. Anybody else have this problem? |
If you email support we can help you sort out your login issues, we’re not able to troubleshoot problems like this in the forums. As far as using Sundial is concerned, you should be able to use the API password that is provided under the “My Info” section. Look for a section that reads: Using OpenID with APIs and RSS/iCal Feeds: If you log in with OpenID, and want to use the API, RSS, and iCal feeds, you’ll need to use this username/password in your RSS reader or iCalendar calendar. |
Very very cool. Highrise integration will be awesome too (and I’m sure will encourage me to use it more!) Just another thing worth mentioning: If you switch to using OpenID, and you use iCAL (or similar), you’ll need to re-subscribe to your iCalendar feed from the dashboard, as your URL token will have changed. Just so you know, y’know? (I spent a little while fruitlessly trying my new OpenID pass combo into iCal when it started complaining about my password changing… deleting/resubscribing fixed it good) |
Yes, same here. I also realised that I had to manually enter the OpenID everytime I opened a new browser window which is not very convenient. For Highrise I could go back to normal login but BC doesn’t accept it. |
Thanks for the new Remember Me feature; very useful! :) |

I’m using two Basecamp accounts, one for my freelance practice and one for projects on a nonprofit board I serve on. I tend to click with Basecamp sorts of people, so I imagine I’ll work with clients who use Basecamp at some point, too. Andy |
