Topic: Why can't I use strikethrough in textile? I have also had problems with certain Textile codes. Can someone from Backpack please post all of the Textile codes that are intentionally disabled in Backpack? It doesn’t make sense to direct users there from the Backpack Help pages when you have disabled parts of it. Perhaps there needs to be a page created/hosted by 37 Signals showing what codes to use for formatting in Backpack. Thank you. Jim |

Topic: Why can't I use strikethrough in textile? Thanks for the clarification Jeff – at least now I know I’ve not been doing something stupid. It might be a good idea to change the textile help link at the bottom of http://www.backpackit.com/help/pages/ because it provides incorrect information and wastes your user’s time. So textile strikethrough and underline don’t work – anything else? |

Topic: Why can't I use strikethrough in textile? Hi everyone. We’re no longer using the “stock” textile implementation. We’ve disabled very few features, but one of them is strikethrough text. Strikethrough can wreak havoc when you’re not expecting it, and it’s a rarely used formatting aide. I understand that sometimes strikethrough text can be a useful signifier, but at the cost of making other hyphenation unpredictable, it doesn’t seem worth it. |

Topic: Should uploading a 7MB file take longer than 2 minutes? Actually that sounds about right for 512Mbps up. It used to take me a long time for all uploads when I had Comcast’s base (6 Mbps) tier service. Now I have the upgraded 8 Mbps tier and 1024 Mbps upload and it is much faster. BTW, I don’t think you ever get the full 512. Like everything else, the rated bandwidth is greater than actual. Plus, if you have any other bandwidth being used that will have an impact. E.g., your browser is probably open, maybe with Gmail checking periodically along with other websites causing traffic back and forth. Google notifier, Windows OR Google Desktop Search and many other applications. Jim |

Topic: Recommendations for Backpack Dashboard widget? Not really. There is one widget that is almost 2 years old now, and it is pretty limited (only sees the first list on a page, etc). It would be great if someone came up with an updated one. |

Topic: iBackpack - Backpack Pages Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch @Thierry Unfortunately, I can’t find a way to inject code into any other 37signals products like I can do with Backpack. I’m afraid the only way it’s going to happen is if 37signals implements it on their own, or if they hire me. ;) Glad the changes seem to be working for everyone! |

Topic: iBackpack - Backpack Pages Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch The February 2008 changes to Backpack seem to have broken iBackpack on the iPod Touch for me. I can see the frame with the pages but cannot scroll through it and there are other formatting quirks. Is it just me? |
