Topic: Feature Requests / Security / Backups Hi, Requested feature: Ability to perform account BACKUPS. We now have quite a few pages and it would be devastating if there was a server problem. Thanks |

Topic: Feature Requests / Add a... should be per Divider... Hi Hober, Nice example of a page layout broken by dividers. To me this would be the “Homepage”. On the right hand column we have around 50 pages (each page is a project), which automatically get listed A-Z. It’s at this point it becomes hard to remember which projects A-Z we should be working on; Therefore what would be excellent is that within in the Homepage we could add Dividers (Lets call them Months) and simply “drag” links from the right hand side list to the correct divider section – creating links to active pages. The homepage would then look like this: ==== Sept === ==== Oct ==== ==== Nov ==== ==== Dec ==== This would then make like SO much easier. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Move page to page promised a year ago Hi BackPackIt team—the ability to manage the right hand side box would be much appreciated! Even if it was just to allow divides to be put on the sidebox so we could move our pages into the correct divider area. e.g. We would then know which pages work we should be focusing on. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Login / Password Reminders The current login to Backpack is asking for: Username: If a user forgets their username/password why can click on a link (forgotten password) but are more often than not being taken to the “Whoops, that isn’t a valid web address” —Instead, like Yahoo/MSN/etc it would be much better to just ask them to enter their “email address” and for the password to be sent. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Move page to page promised a year ago One element which has been missed (which would be perfect) drag “page” links from the Righthand Side into the HomePage or other Pages. We have around 100 pages showing in alphabetical order on the right hand side and we want to create a list of key pages from within the homepage (between Dividers of Months) and rather than having to look through the 100 pages we will then be able to quickly our pages. help… |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Homepage with links to pages. In my home page I have two items that look like this:
On mouse-over we can “Delete” , “move” or click on the name to link to the created page. Question: It’s great to have these as we can then add links from our homepage to certain pages. Question is how were they created as we don’t seem to be able to add any more and they just seemed to appear following the last upgrade? |

Topic: Feature Requests / Add 'Divider' to right hand side page lists On the right hand side we have a list of all created pages. We really need to group these and it would be useful to allow either DIVIDERS or COLOR changes allowing us to quickly pick out the correct page. |

Topic: How are you using Backpack? / Are we using BackPackIt correctly? Hi there, Just wondering if we are using BackPackIt correctly or whether anyone can feedback some improvements: We use Backpackit to control clients web projects. We’ve reviewed BaseCamp (PM) but this may just offer a little more than necessary for our clients. For example project a new Page is created for each client which is broken up into sections: —Cient Review/Feedback and Raised tasks
—JSWeb to action
—Design Images
We use SHARING to grant access to the Page to a “client” and “developer”. The client adds tasks under the “Client Review/Feedback and Raised” section and our Developer adds under the “to action” section. This all works well but we have raised a few nice to haves: 1. Currently the developer is having to review each open page (one for each assigned project) multiple times a day to check if any changes have been made (it would be great if emails could be sent out to the SHARED clients informing them that changes have been made). The client for example may add a set of new tasks and when finished sends out a broadcast. 2. It would be great if PRIVATE List/tasks could be raised between SHARED individuals e.g. ADMIN <> CLIENT or ADMIN <> Developer. For example if would be great to have a new LIST added that is only shared between the ADMIN <> Client and used to discuss project costs (not visible to the developer). 3. Read/Write: Allow for a new SHARE to be added to the Page but not allow them to WRITE (only READ) the page. 4. Back onto the topic of emails ;) – Once we have created a page we SHARE the page with clients. They first of all get the status of “These people haven’t made accounts yet: xxx@xxxx.com” << It would be great if you can [Send Reminder] 5. We now have a growing list of pages (right hand side). How are other organising these? It would be great to allow use to order them under sections. This would allow us to keep our projects focussed. I hope they aren’t too confusing – we welcome any feedback. |

Topic: Feature Requests / email notification from backpack On this forum I have just spotted “[] Watching topic” —this is exactly what is required ! I’ve just taken a tour on BASECAMP (looking great) and it already has a feature: – Enter to do item – Who’s responsible [Email that user!!] Now that would be good in BackPackIt ;) |

Topic: Feature Requests / Quote/Pay for request For each of our design projects we open a NEW PAGE and give access to the ADMIN / DESIGNER / CLIENT The client has a section to add in required changes. Sometimes the client asks for new tasks which are really out of the original scope. It would be great to allow us to confirm a cost for this work allowing the client to a) AGREE/REJECT and b) make a Paypal payment. Note: Ideally we use freelance designers so the cost between the ADMIN <> CLIENT should remain private. Now that would be cool! |

Topic: Feature Requests / email notification from backpack Great request—this is definitely required! It would be great to allow an “editor” to send out a notification email (to all SHARED users) once they have made changes to their BackPackIt Page. Example: A new page has been created and 3 people have been added to the shared list. Those 3 people are all sent an email asking them to join and view the new page. One of the 3 people goes into the page and makes some changes. Once they have completed they send an “UPDATE” which emails all Shared people a reminder to view the page. Without this functionality, we are having to check each of our pages throughout the day to try and spot any changes—this is very tiring.. |
