Topic: Feature Requests / Let's make the Openbar "Open"

@Todd I understand what you’re saying, but Google have a similar thing in place in a lot of their apps/services – calendar, gmail, docs & spreadsheets, etc., but I back the idea to allow non-37signals apps on the OpenBar as I think it would make a user’s life easier.

As a developer, I’d love to see the openbar literally made “Open”, i.e. Open source that could be integrated into other apps.

Topic: Feature Requests / Allowing payment via PayPal

I might have tried this before, I can’t remember, but I’ll give it ago again sometime. Thanks for the advice.

Topic: Feature Requests / Allowing payment via PayPal

If this isn’t useful to anyone else then I suppose that means it’s unnecessary for 1 user (so I’m stuck on the free plan). Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve noticed a lot of views for this topic but no other posts.
I’d be interested to hear if this is of interest to anyone else.

Topic: Backpack API / Problems withthe OpenID feature

Do you mean the list of pages won’t load without being logged in or the page won’t display without being logged in? If it’s the latter, it’ll be (if I’m right) that you’re extension just goes straight to the URL of that user’s page – i.e. http://user.backpackit.com/page/123456—but in a normal instance, if the user had favourited one of their Backpack page’s and weren’t logged in it wouldn’t display when they went directly to it, because it if did anyone with the URL http://user.backpackit.com/page/123456 would be able to see that page.

As for the loading of the list itself, I don’t have a clue.

Topic: Feature Requests / Dates of Notes

You guys excel every time; you added notes back again quickly, but now you made them better – they’re optional. Thanks.

Topic: Feature Requests / Having an UNDO when deleting stuff

I recently read an A List Apart article about using undo rather than just confirmations in web apps: A List Apart: Never Use A Warning When You Mean Undo – which noted both Highrise and Google Mail and how GMail has a trash folder—undo would be a nice addition to the 37signals apps.

Topic: Feature Requests / Auto-complete tags

That would be really neat—it’s done in a lot of (social) bookmarking websites, etc. (e.g. del.icio.us).
I guess it would be a bit of ajax.

Topic: Feature Requests / Form Labels

I second this request, but for all form elements.
As a Windows user (and web developer), I realise that Safari only supports the clickable for="" attribute on <label>s as of version 3, which is currently in beta – so it might not have occurred to you guys (37s) to add this, but it does provide for a smoother user experience.

Topic: Feature Requests / OpenID/OpenBar

Thanks 37signals, Open Bar’s great! People have been asking for single-sign-in and you guys delivered – perfectly (also, thanks for being so quick updating Backpack with it).

Just one thing on the security side: what if there was a bogus open-id provider who stole the passwords/open-id URIs of people who signed up with them—am I right in thinking that the passwords are stored on the OpenID provider’s server, or is it a central server that all OpenIDs are stored on regardless of provider?

Topic: Feature Requests / Allowing payment via PayPal

I’m currently on the Backpack free plan and I’m interesting in upgrading my account, but you don’t support my card (Maestro-British version), or PayPal.
I would be grateful for support of either or both, but PayPal would probably be easier since I already have an account.
Would this interest any other users?
