I have a similar scenario/request as Peter. Ideally, I’d like for the Newsroom to only show updates to other users based on their permissions. In other words, if I haven’t share a page with you, you don’t see anything related to that page on the Newsroom.

This would far better enable situations where (like me) Backpack is being used for personal and work related projects, without sharing personal information to coworkers.

Currently, attaching an Office 2007 file (.pptx, .xlsx, etc.) results in a generic icon.

When someone I’ve shared a page with makes a change to a page, Newsroom displays “You made changes to the [...] page.”

This is a question that’s been asked numerous times, with no answer that I’ve found. It’s clear that the mobile version of Backpack has been allowed to atrophy to put it politely. It’s great to see all of the focus on iPhone versions of 37signals’ apps, but I’d really like to see a bit of time and attention of correcting the raft of problems with the mobile version of Backpack.

It would appear that I have my answer.

After being a paid subscriber for 3 years, I can say at this point that as soon as a comparable service comes along (i.e. Google’s acquisition of JotSpot), I’m gone. I understand that you’re a small company, but to continue to ignore something that is clearly broken without a word of comment is the pinnacle of bad form.

This may or may not be the appropriate place to post, but while I know that Rogers (Canada) has been on the “works” list for some time, there is a significant hangup. As compared to Google Calendar, for example, where SMS messages come straight through to me, with Backpack, I always have to explicitly reply and tell Rogers to let the Backpack message through. Clearly, there’s a difference in implementation between how Google and 37signals are working this.

Have any other Rogers customers seen this behavior?

I’ve switched to OpenID, and now when accessing [username].backpackit.com/mob I’m unable to login. I’m prompted to enter username and password, but no dice. I’m not sure what’s being referred to above, because this is the only options I’m being given.

This seems to be a bandaid at best, anyway. Please advise as to what’s being done to rectify the problem.

I’d really, really prefer to have the original size back or to have a fluid/resizable page. I’m finding that even at 10-15% wider than I normally maintain my browser, I’m getting horizontal scroll on certain pages.
