Topic: Feature Requests / Links in list titles no longer work A work around is to put no title on the list and put a divider with an HTML link above the list. Dividers can have up to about 100 characters of HTML. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Archiving or Merging pages I have an email address called archive@mydomain.com that re-directs to the e-mail address of a Backpack page called “Archive”. I never delete pages without first e-mailing a copy to the archive. |

Topic: Feature Requests / simplify email to pages The solution is to register a domain and then use e-mail re-directs. For example I can register abc123.com with namecheap.com and then have archive@abc123.com redirect to harry12sally@myname.backpackit.com obscure Backpack page address of my Archive page. You can make as many re-direct addresses as you could reasonably want. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Mailto links It looks like my example got chewed up in the same bug. The intent is to show simply a link of “Bubba” that links to the longer proper e-mail address when clicked. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Mailto links It would be nice if an HTML hyperlink tag supported an href that was a mailto. Here is an an example: <a href="mailto:<a href="mailto:robert.smith@somecompany.com">robert.smith@somecompany.com</a>">Bubba</a> The mailto gets garbled. But you can put this kind of a mailto link in a divider without problem! Thanks for considering. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Large blank area between header and "Add a...(links)" This bug has been around since the big update a month or so ago. The blank area is as large as your right sidebar page list. It happens for me under IE6 on some computers, but not others. The IE6 version doesn’t seem to matter. Initial responses from Basecamp tech support thought maybe I had some troublesome page content (long links). But it even happens with I click at the top to see my “Settings” page. I keep hoping someone will come up with an idea to fix it. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Collapse divider sections While you are at it with dividers. Dividers can hold HTML. That is good, I put links in them sometimes as a neat way to make a mini-link bar. The field length seems to be limited to about 100 characters or so, which makes building an HTML link to a long URL kind of difficult. Can you allow for 1000+ characters? |

Topic: Feature Requests / Collapse divider sections +1 Really cool if it could be ‘sticky’ so that if I collapse a section Backpack would remember it for the next time I opened the page in another browser window. |

Topic: Tips & Tricks / Mac: Use keyboard navigation while dragging items to avoid scrolling Works in IE6 as well. Home, End PgUp and PgDn all work. Thanks very much Derick, this is very helpful. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Posting date with notes? This suggestion is probably too nerdy but would be a very nice addition: How about controlling date display with a formatting string? Leave it blank for no date, have parameters like create mm ddd yyyy or mod mm ddd yyyy to control what is displayed next to the title. Have options for create date, last mod date, etc. You gotta have the check box for date display anyway, why not change it to something powerful? |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Big white space at top of home page Jason, I’m currently working on this with Sarah in tech support. In my specific case the problem occurs when a note has a long URL. All regular page items are slide down to the end of the sidebar, creating the white space. It happens under IE6. Sarah has screen shots. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Links section. A cool way to make links is to put a HTML link in the text of a divider. The only problem is that the divider text is limited to about 100 characters internally so URL’s can’t be too long. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Tagging My suggestion is a “Tag Summary Page”. That would be a list of all my pages with their associated tags. It would be a great way for me to quickly review my tag structure, find pages I forgot to tag, clean up tag name schemes, etc. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Note Dates, Include Year Thanks very much for restoring the Note dates. Optional display is great. Now that dates are optional, how about going to a date format that includes the year? I’m in my third year as a Backpack customer and have many pages with notes stretching back years in time. The “missing year” situation on my old pages is now even more difficult as old entries are in an oldest first order. With the recent Backpack update new entries are added at the top. I have very low enthusiasm for manually re-ordering a couple of dozen notes on each of my existing pages. Even if I do manually reorder the lack of a year in the date will make it an excruciating process. Thank you for your consideration. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Dates of Notes Please restore the dates. This is a vital piece of information for my notes. You have a live product, it isn’t OK to take away information previously displayed without warning. Thank you. |
