Topic: Miscellaneous / Account Type Changes - Huh?

Whew! That is a huge relief. Yes, the current chart is very misleading. Thanks, Jamis.

Topic: Miscellaneous / Account Type Changes - Huh?

Guys, I switched to the $14/month plan recently so that I could get 1,000 pages and 4 GB of space. As of today’s change, I’m now automatically switched to a $12/month plan and get a lousy 100 pages (my Account page tells met I am over my limit) and downgraded to 2GB?

I call shenanigans.

I saw your statement on the product blog about grandfathering my SSL. Thanks, I do need that. But I have heavily invested myself in data here and it appears that I’m now going to be forced to upgrade to a $24/month account in order to keep my data.

What gives?

Topic: How are you using Backpack? / Well, how do you?

I am a recruiter and I use a separate page for each of my clients. I used to keep each client on a separate Writeboard, but that was sort of a hack. With the new search feature I have my client info readily at hand and can set up “to do” lists for each client and track the latest activity there. It’s especially useful for tracking major contacts at each company I work with, even though I use HighriseHQ as a CRM. HighriseHQ is nice and is an easy archive for my e-mail correspondence, but it doesn’t let me see everybody at once. I use Notes on each page to list web sites, company news, and thoughts about next steps. I’ve just learned that you can embed Google maps with directions onto a page, so I’m really looking forward to trying that.

I also use the pages to organize my personal life, too, for trip planning, Christmas gifts, and, of course, a Main Page that holds my master To Do lists.

Topic: How are you using Backpack? / How do you use the BP Calendar

I use BP Calendar extensively to manage my schedule for interviewing and appointaments (I am a recruiter). BP calendar is great, because I am able to color code out all of groups I’m involved with. And the reminder feature that pings my cell phone is indispensible. I realize that Google calendar does all this stuff, but I do enjoy the click and drag features in Backpack. Plus, I still just subscribe to my Backpack calendar in Google, so if I’m playing over in Google Docs and Gmail I have easy access to my calendar.
