Topic: Calendar - more repeat options I stopped using the Backpack calendar long ago. It doesn’t have enough features to warrant spending any time on it. And it does not work with iCal subscriptions as it should – it never picks up any deletions or additions to the base calendar; IOW the subscription doesn’t work. Jim |

Topic: Calendar - more repeat options Examples of Holidays that can’t be repeated in the Calendar: - Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (Third Mon. in Jan.) Most gatherings for business and/or clubs are on the “first” “last” “whatever” (day of the week) of each month. The ability to repeat like that is just as helpful as the one we’ve got. Not ‘feature bloat’ at all…necessary for a good calendar. |

Topic: Calendar - more repeat options This is exactly the request that I have. There are far too many events that occur the (first, second, third, or fourth) day of every month. This includes business meetings, holidays, and lots of other meetings. I signed up for a pay account because of the calendar, but without an adequate ‘Repeat Event’ setting I’m not sure it’s worth it. Thanks! |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account So I guess the Status part is only available if you are part of a team? So no use for the Solo account, hence the Logbook feature has lost 50% of its usefulness for soloists. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account I’d like to +1 for removing the lockdown completely. I want to upgrade add new users to my account, but I have old journal entries which I don’t want these users to see. At least allow me to delete the entries, if not edit them. The only way I can erase my journal seem to be to delete my account. |

Topic: Calendar - more repeat options I have a standing meeting the first Wednesday of every month. In iCal, I can set it to repeat on the first Wednesday of every month. But in Backpack, if I want it to repeat, the only option is for it to repeat on the same day of the month. Which means, in effect, that I need to enter it manually for each month, since the 1st Wednesday doesn’t fall on the same day. I realize that 37S is philosophically opposed to feature bloat, but this is a case where keeping the options simple leads to a program that is at odds with the way the world works. Seven day weeks and months of varying length mean that a purely date-based repeat function isn’t that helpful. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account +1 for oscar7g’s idea. I often want to add entries for the previous day and end up with a lot of entries tagged [yesterday] which looks crappy and makes it more confusing. Personally I don’t need to go back more than one day (keep me honest for everything 2 days ago!) so I’d be really happy just to edit/add items for yesterday. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account Does anyone (like an administrator) know if there are any plans to change this? It really does seem like a ridiculous limitation. I’m all for “less”, but shouldn’t this at least be an administrator’s option, as randian suggested above? |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account I’d at least like a delete button even if you can’t edit it. I have also posted some stuff I don’t want on there and I can’t remove it, seems silly. |

Topic: More Contact Fields Here is what I do for custom fields. Often times I only need a couple of inputs for a given “field” so I can use tags as a form of dropdown. Have tags called:
Then you could have some more tags for say, region like this:
This makes it so that the tags are “grouped” by the first bit so it works kind of like a field. Does this make sense? It’s worked quite well. It’s not directly searchable, but you can filter by the tags at least. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account The editing policy should be configurable by the administrator. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account I like the idea of a lock down but I’d also like at least a day’s grace. Perhaps the current day and the previous day’s entries could be editable. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account I agree. This is sort of annoying. Why enforce that we be “honest?” I mean, should that really be Backpack’s job? Seems silly. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account I jumped right in and added a test journal entry that reads “blah, blah, blah.” So, I can’t delete that? I have to look at that forever? |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account That’s correct. You can only edit the current day’s journal entries. Restricting editing of historical entries helps keep them honest. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account No status on my solo account either which makes sense as there’s no-one to see it! Can’t edit entries whereas I can on my multi user account. |

Topic: Journal on a Solo account I have a Solo account and the new journal feature doesn’t seem to work as shown in the demo video. There’s no status feature (which I understand might make sense for a single user account) and I can’t edit or delete my journal entries. I’d like to enter journal entries to keep track of what I do over the week and I’d definitely like to be able to edit them. Is this a bug or by design? |
