Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" This is Fundamentally one of the most useful features in our organization. We have been using HR for 6 days at this point. We have brought the 5 primary people in company onto a single page just by using this feature. Our GM feels like he is playing Starcraft and we are all his little minions now that he can assign everyone talks and get feedback on them actually completing them. Thank you for empowering our overlord. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" It would be even better if you could assign more than one person responsible to a task. We do alot of group projects. It would be very helpful to our scheduling and efficiency if people could see all the tasks that they are responsible for. If that is a possibility for highrise that would help us out tremendously! Thanks! |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" In order to work around this we are doing something completely ugly and keeping all tasks under one username with a (Username) in parentheses in the task description itself. It’s truly awful, but it seems to be the only way to currently see everyone’s tasks in one place in highrise. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" +1 for “Tasks for Everyone” Really hard to jump back and forth between people when I want to see “all overdue tasks this week”..the only way to do it is to go person by person and see their overdue tasks. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" This is very good – just need to see the dropdown with everyone listed – will make collective crm much more powerful. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" Excellent. Thank you. And it seems to work ok with Cases or Contacts that have security restrictions (eg: if Case is restricted to a Group, and user A adds a public task for user B to the Case, then if I’m in the group I can see the task on the “Tasks for User B”, and if I’m not in the group, I can’t). I haven’t tried it out with individual people in the access list, attached either to a case or to a note, but I’m going to assume it works just the same! In other words “everyone” is interpreted in the context of “everyone who can already see the underlying item the task is attached to”. Is that correct? Great job. JW |

Topic: ical feeds failing in iCal in Leopard Somewhat off-topic, as I think this isn’t Backpack-specific, but has anyone had any luck getting ical feeds to auto-refresh in iCal under Leopard? |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" Thanks – this was the #1 feature we thought was clearly missing. Greater probability we’ll stick with HighRise in the long run. One suggestion: The account admin can decide that all tasks are automatically visible to everybody, no matter what. People would then not be able to uncheck the box to let everyone see the task. That would be great, as right now I have to tell all my associates to please always check the box. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" Many thanks Jason and the team. However as an administrator, I would prefer to see all tasks assigned to everyone on the dashboard by selecting either the date or this week, next week, next month. Is this in the scheme of things to come from 37 Signals? Sarah |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" Great addition. Thanks guys! I’d like to add another vote for an “everyone” option in the dropdown list of users when viewing outstanding tasks. Also, it would be nice to be able to assign tasks to everyone, but that’s getting off topic for this thread so I’ll start a new one in the feature requests forum. Thanks again!! |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" Thanks for the feedback, everyone. We’ve adjusted the new task form so that the “Let everyone see this task” checkbox remembers whether it’s checked or not after you add a task. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" I’d really like a way to make the default for a task to be “Shared” I also 2nd the vote for a “show public tasks on dashboard” Its only my assistant and I using highrise. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" Oh I see they are visible only when I click a particular person. Well I’m sure this solved a lot of peoples problems but it doesn’t fit the way we work. My team is only three people and it’s better for all of us to see all the tasks on the dashboard because this way it’s easier for people to see what everyone is working on and fosters a sort of passive communication between us. Wish there was an option to ‘show public tasks in dashboard’. |

Topic: NEW FEATURE: "Public Tasks" I might be crazy but my dashboard is not showing public tasks assigned to other people. They are on the tasks/assigned page but not on the Dashboard where they would be useful… |
